How to clean an electric kettle?

electric kettle and cup
Electric kettles are a great addition to any kitchen. They let you prepare anything that requires hot water in an instant. They heat up quickly and efficiently, saving you the hassle of turning on a stove and waiting for water to boil slowly. Whether you want a cup of hot tea or plain boiling water for a quick pasta dish, your electric kettle will be there for you.
In general, electric kettles are very low-maintenance and do not require a lot of attention. However, it is important to watch out for mineral buildup. That is, especially if you live in a hard water area. Calcium and magnesium will build up on the inside of your kettle. This will affect how long the kettle takes to boil water.
Removing this mineral buildup is known as descaling. If your water contains more minerals, you may need to descale your kettle more often. In general, it is enough to deep clean your kettle once a month or per manufacturer’s instructions. If your kettle is made of glass, you will be able to see when buildup occurs and know when it is time to clean it.

How to properly clean a humidifier?

humidifier
A properly working humidifier can be a lifesaver. However, simply turning your humidifier on is not enough to get rid of dry air and respiratory illnesses. It requires regular cleaning and fortunately for you, cleaning it on a regular basis is not a complicated task at all.
During the cold, dry months of winter, humidifiers are there to save the day. They add moisture back to the air in the room, soothe dry skin, and they also improve symptoms of colds and a number of respiratory issues. However, when not cleaned regularly, humidifiers can actually start to do more harm than good. The standing water makes a perfect ground for bacteria, mould, and mildew growth. If you leave all those in your humidifier and turn them on, all you will do is allow them to spread around your home and they will eventually make your allergies worse. Ideally, you should empty out, clean, and sanitise your humidifier once a week.
In this article, we will discuss how to clean a humidifier in a few simple steps. This method should be able to apply to most types of humidifiers. However, you should always check your owner’s manual for any specific recommendations and warnings. That way you will make the process easier and avoid any damage to your humidifier.

How to clean sticky silicone bakeware?

silicone bakeware
Silicone is a non-stick material used in bakeware, spatulas, cooking molds, and other tools. Those are very easy to use but not particularly easy to clean. You can wash them in the dishwasher, however, you may need to take on a hand-washing approach now and then.
You should always wash your silicone bakeware after every use. If it becomes sticky, a deeper cleaning might be needed. Do not ignore that, since leaving them like this will make the problem worse and cause them to be extra sticky and grimy.
Regular cleaning of all your silicone kitchenware will help you maintain it nonstick, clean, and easier to use. Add it to your deep cleaning routine, before the buildup of dirt and grease will cause issues.

While giving a great spice to a variety of delicious meals, hot sauce can also leave annoying and unsightly stains on your clothes, carpets, or upholstery. The good news is that those stains are relatively easy to remove as long as you know the correct method.

There is usually some artificial colouring added to the hot sauce but unless a huge amount of those was added, you should be able to easily get rid of the stain by using common household items such as heavy-duty liquid laundry detergent, white vinegar, and a stain removal stick. Make sure you do not put a stained garment in your dryer. The heat will set the stain and cause it to become permanent.
